Whitening, contrast starkening

Before fading into sameness

An expression that is no longer mine,

But a feeling I am still within

Printed

Obtained, and so

Vulnerable to loss;

Obtained and so indebted

To protection

To the labor that brings to being;

Obtained and so committed

To memory

And open to ache–
